Eco-Responsible Production

Aware of the environmental challenges linked to soil management, our company chose, as early as the early 2000s, to adopt a proactive and responsible approach. When present in excess, phosphorus can contribute to the degradation of aquatic ecosystems—an important issue in many regions sensitive to water pollution.

Recognizing that the repeated purchase of new growing media naturally increases phosphorus levels in soils, founder Pierre-André Daignault undertook a complete rethinking of substrate management. After several years of research and development, he designed a soil-treatment system unique in Canada, allowing the same growing medium to be continuously recycled and reused.

This innovation not only significantly reduces waste and the need to purchase new substrates, but also limits greenhouse gas emissions associated with material transport and the disposal of organic waste. A concrete, consistent, and sustainable approach—at the very core of our eco-responsible commitment.

Edible flowers

& Vegetables

ll of our vegetables and edible flowers are certified organic by Ecocert Canada.

Organic certification guarantees that a product meets strict standards for environmentally responsible production, as well as for health and animal welfare.

It is governed by precise regulations, notably regarding the absence of chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

At Jardiniers du Chef, we are committed to sustainable agricultural practices that respect the environment.

Pierre-André Daignault
Owner

Our market-garden enterprise has built an enviable reputation thanks to its producer-artisan. He is constantly driven to discover new species capable of surprising the palate, evoking aromas, revealing textures, and captivating the eye with striking colors.

A graduate in psychology and philosophy from Concordia University, his passion for agriculture was born in 1988, a turning point that would ultimately reshape his career path.

What began as a pastime gradually evolved into a deep and growing passion for cultivating the land.
